Tour Overview

The month of January to March is what we call calving season. Each year around Jan, the migration will be at the southern Serengeti and into Ngorongoro conservation area. During this time of the year this side of the parks are rich in nutritious, grass and provide herds the best condition for raising the newborn calves.

Day by Day

Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, go through the security check point and officials at the counter will check the required documents to verify your identity.  You must have a valid passport, visa and covid test certificate. After verification, you will take the luggage’s and go to the exit door where you will find a Kojuu safaris driver guide with a signboard written “Karibu Tanzania” and with your name on it. He will greet you and take your luggage to our transfer vehicle and transferred you to Arusha city.

Welcome to Arusha City! The city is not that huge as Dar es Salaam but it has a lot to offer you compare to any other region in Tanzania.  On arrival at the hotel our driver guide will assist you with check in process then the hotel porter will help you with your luggage leading you to your room to relax and freshen up.  Dinner will be saved at the restaurants afterwards and you will be free to enjoy hotel facilities where you can explore, take photos and have fun before heading off to bed.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you will drive to the Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive. Tarangire lies in Northern circuit ,120km from Arusha and it will take 2hours drive to reach here. This is a sixth largest park in Tanzania but even with lack in size the park has a lot offer you more that you can ever imagine. It gives visitors an excellent birth watching opportunities throughout of the year and authentic life time experience.

Tarangire famous with largest herds of elephant and baobabs trees. This park offers unique and diverse landscapes compare to any other park in Northern circuit. The permanent source of water makes a plenty of wild animals migrate here during dry season.  Visitors will find herds of elephant, buffalos and populations of lion, giraffe and leopard. Tarangire is underrated for those who like to explore. You will drive through the savannah to study and learn about small creatures and spot many animals. Here you can also do some excursion like balloon safari, walking and many others.

Later in the afternoon you will drive to your lodge which is located at Mto wa Mbu for overnight

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, safari briefing then your driver guide will pick you up and drive to Lake Manyara for full day game drive.Lake Manyara is now more of a forest park compare to the years back but it has not lost its appeal and it still offers a unique experience to visitors. Even though it has the least number of mammals in all Northern circuit parks, Lake Manyara makes up for it in its unique wilderness which entails of scenic landscapes such as such as Rift valley, dense woodlands and stunning mountain side.

This park is a great starting point for an adventure. It lies in Northern circuit of Tanzania and it is 130km from Arusha and approximately 2 hours’ drive. The 60% of this park is covered by the lake which is 330sq km and the other 40 % 0r 132sq km is a forest harboring over 100 species of birds and array of mammals such as elephant, blue monkeys, giraffe and Zebra and leopard and lions to name a few. Lake Manyara National Park centers around its eponymous alkaline lake, a key habitat for hundreds of bird species. In month of November and April, thousands of greater and lesser pink flamingos gather on its shore, along with pick-backed pelicans yellow-billed storks, grey herons and pods of hippos

As afternoon begins to end you will make your way toward your accommodation which is located at Karatu for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Central Serengeti National Park

Early breakfast, you will be pick up by Kojuu Safaris driver guide and drive you to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro conservation area for game viewing.Serengeti is extremely large and wild game park ever. It is every traveler desire to see, a nearly 15000 sq km, this park is truly “the endless plains” as it is known by nomadic Maasai who are found here.  You mind will be boggling by the quantity and wildlife inside Serengeti.  It is a home of big five “Lion, Leopard, bush elephant, African buffalo and Black Rhino”. If is also famous with annual migration and beautiful landscapes.

Serengeti is a treat to visit not just for animals but also for its vast and varied species.  The park encompasses grasslands, wetlands, woodlands and riverine forest and more. It is reach, varied and perfect ecosystem that you will see and your knowledgeable driver guide will be happy to share his knowledge with you.

After the game viewing you will drive to the lodge which is located inside the park and has an amazing view for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Central Serengeti National Park

The sound of Africa arouses you from a sleep and you will freshen up and go the main area for breakfast.  After breakfast you driver guide will pick you up and drive to the park for full day game drive. If you love animals then Serengeti is a good place to be. In here you will find the real Mufasa, Nala, Simba and Scars, thanks to the Disney film “The Lion King”. There are around 3000 Lions live in Serengeti ecosystem. They are relatively easy to spot not just because of their numbers but also because they like to loll about for hours each day under the trees. In fact, Lion can long around about 20 hours a day. The Serengeti also has bush elephant, cape buffaloes, birds like Kori bustard, Fischer’s and many others.

Bottom line is Serengeti is an endless playground, from the big five, the big cats, hot air balloon to river crossing in Mara River and Grumeti – there is no shortage of raw adventures and adrenaline – pumping moments.

As afternoon begins to end you will make your way toward your lodge which has a spectacular view and it is located inside the park for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Ndutu Area

After breakfast, drive to Ndutu area for game drive. Ndutu area has divided into two side: Ngorongoro side and South side of Serengeti. While the route for great migration has remain the same for last 5 years, the exact time of the journey depending on seasonal rainfall, so it is still remained unpredictable. Ndutu area is where the calving season takes place which is from January to March, where the herds are usually towards Ngorongoro searching for green pasture but not inside the crater. This plain is a perfect place for wildebeest to give birth due to it abundance of nourishment which is good for the new born baby. In this journey wildebeest are not alone but accompanied by Zebra and gazelle.

As afternoon begins to end you will make your way towards your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Ndutu Area

Breakfast, you driver guide will pick you up and drive to the park for another full game drive tracking the migration. What so special about this area is the sweet grasses which are not just tasty but perfect for the young wildebeest. The area has the grass which is nutritious because of the Volcanic that happened years ago. The ash spewed out by these erupting volcanoes was blown over the plains of Ndutu area and settled here which help in fertilize and nourish the soil, making the grass that grow here simply enticing to mother wildebeest and their babies. The guide will explain this and much more while taking one step at the time exploring this park. Later in the evening you will make your way toward your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Ndutu Area –Ngorongoro crater

Breakfast, before leaving spectacular area you will take this opportunity to do morning game drive and later on drive to Ngorongoro to your accommodation which has a great view of Lake Magadi for relaxation, dinner and overnight.Tomorrow the wonder of the crater awaits you.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater

Early breakfast. Today you drive to the 8th wonder of the world for full day game drive spotting wildlife. Ngorongoro crater known as “Africa’s Garden of Eden’s is the well-preserved natural phenomenon that has become sanctuary for all kinds of wildlife.  It is 190km from Arusha town.

First, there was a volcanic caldera full of grassland, forest and swamp, a settling jaw of beauty. Secondly the permanent water of the crater floor supports a resident population of more than 25,000 large mammals. Here you will find many reasons you choose to come to safari: leopard, lion, black rhino, hyena, wallowing, Zebra, waterbuck, baboons and many others.

Aside from the crater inside the conservation area you will be able to see this awesome space with animals are the Maasai, grazing their cattle in an area which has been separate conservation area since 1956 and UNESCO World heritage site since 1978. This harmonious co- habitation of man and beast makes Ngorongoro unique in Tanzania and the driver guide will be pleased to explain this incredible co-existence to you.

Soon after ascend from the crater floor you will drive to Arusha to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Departure Day

Breakfast, relax at the pool area, swimming or go for sauna or stem bath or to the gym whatever you prefer. In the afternoon you will have lunch and later on transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight.
